SAIC is seeking an experienced Data Steward.  In this role, you will coordinate the organization's data quality, data relationships, and data maintenance.  the Data Steward defines data elements and establishes policies and procedures related to the collection and accuracy of data, and performs tests on data systems.  You will ensure sufficient data quality is maintained so that the data can effectively support the business process.

The Data Steward works in the USTRANSCOM Joint Distribution Process Analysis Center (JDPAC) and identifies and documents data/information resources in the JDPAC data catalog database, which allow analysts to research data/information resources available to them. The catalog has over 840 data and informational resources documented. As the JDPAC data requirements are determined, the database is documented and updated as necessary with any new sources. From a consolidation of data requirements, available data sources are assessed, to include a characterization of data accuracy, latency, and warehousing status. Appropriate primary and secondary data sources are identified to meet analysts’ requirements. Over 20 informational and data system accounts are established and maintained to ensure consistent and reliable JDPAC access to required data/information. Unique data sets are stored for analysts, continually updated to quickly allow for multi-year access. Multiple projects are continually supported through derivation of specific data sets according to the needs of the JDPAC analysts. If a gap is identified between JDPAC data requirements and available data sources, mitigation is facilitated through the Data Quality Working Group or other appropriate venues. Every effort is made to leverage and benefit from existing systems, capabilities and data sources such as IDE/GTN Convergence (IGC), Integrated Mission and Support Deployment and Distribution Cargo (ISDDC), Global Air Transportation and Execution System (GATES), Global Decision Support System (GDSS), USTRANSCOM Reference Data Management (TRDM), and the Strategic Distribution Database (SDDB).
