The US Navy Sailor 2025, Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) Content Conversion project will employ innovative instructional design and assessment strategies in conjunction with high-velocity learning solutions. The goal of RRL is to move training out of brick and mortar schoolhouses and provide the right training at the right time in the right way to improve the transfer of training to the workplace environment.

Work is estimated to start in March 2020 and positions will be located at SAIC facilities in Cookeville, TN along with remote opportunities in Tennessee, Virginia, Florida, DC and Maryland.

Minimum education and experience requirements will vary depending on role and level. All positions require U.S. citizenship and some positions will require a security clearance.


JOB DESCRIPTION: The candidate will interact with team members and project leads to develop engaging content for interactive web- and computer-based training products and instructor-led training materials. Responsibilities may include custom client-side development and scripting (JavaScript/jQuery, HTML, CSS) for deployment of courses within Learning Management Systems.

The candidate must be a self-starter who takes ownership of his/her work.  This candidate will need to remain current with the eLearning industry tools and technology. This position requires attention to detail, as well as demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload, manage time efficiently, and work/lead in a team environment.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline from an accredited college or university and 9+ years of related experience is required. A combination of education and work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

 
REQUIREMENTS: Requirements for this position are listed below:
  • Strong client-side / front-end development skills with at least 5 years of experience in JavaScript/jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, XML, XSL/XSLT

  • Experience developing responsive web-based applications and web sites using Bootstrap or similar libraries/frameworks

  • The ability to write clean, concise, well commented code

  • Experience developing user friendly UI/UX designs

  • Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them

  • Experience with consuming web services using the REST API

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies

  • Experience in evaluating current business processes and determining technical solutions

  • Good communicator with ability to explain complex concepts in plain language, generate enthusiasm, and communicate with all levels of management and staff

  • Attention to detail and commitment to high quality/error free deliverables

  • Successfully manage multiple tasks involving planned projects and ad-hoc tasks

  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively in a team environment and lead small groups of digital artists

  • MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A SECRET CLEARANCE

     
DESIRED SKILLS: The following skills are desired for this position:
  • Experience with the life cycle of design of training content from concept through project completion

  • Working knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, Knockout, or React

  • Experience in developing single page applications

  • Mobile device content development experience

Learning Management System and SCORM or xAPI authoring experience
