SAIC is a Software Engineer/Developer to join our Intelligence division under the Cloud One program. This program is an existing global, interconnected, virtualized, hybrid, and IT infrastructure hosting mission systems, applications, services, and data that will serve the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and U.S. Army (USA). The software engineer will be responsible for the following tasks:


  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs the Air Force’s application software.
  • Design and develop stable software that includes automated test validation
  • Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting. End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software.
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
  • Work effectively with other software engineers, project managers, subject matter experts, and clients.
  • Peer review the work of other development team members
  • Be a productive member of a fast-paced agile team

  • A bachelor’s degree and 9 years of relevant experience is required for this position (Program will accept substituting 4 years of software development experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Candidate must possess an active Secret clearance
  • Active Security + (or other IAT II equivalent) certification
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe or other modern software development practices
  • Extensive experience working with Cloud Computing Services (e.g. AWS, Azure)
  • Experience supporting Air Force's software development projects
  • Experience programming languages such as, .Net. Java, JavaScript, Python, React, Angular
  • Build Automation (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Automated Testing (e.g. Junit, TestNG, Jest, Mockito, Cucumber, etc.)
  • Automated UI Testing (e.g. Selenium)
  • Web Services (e.g. REST)
  • Agile Management Tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence)
  • Dependency Injection Frameworks (e.g. Spring, Java EE)
  • Object oriented design – apply design patterns to common problems
