Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a qualified and motivated water resources individual to help grow our business in the Tidewater and surrounding areas. The qualified applicant will have experience in all aspects of water resources, including stormwater analyses and design, flood mitigation/drainage analyses, and VPDES/NPDES municipal permitting requirements. The candidate shall possess experience in design, engineering and construction management principles for resiliency and stormwater infrastructure. Preference for individuals with exposure/experience in hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling for open and closed systems and water quality modeling, and watershed analyses, Special consideration will be given to those individuals with a proven record of Client management and business development success. The position includes project planning and design, permitting, construction services oversight, schedule/budget management and client interface, all in an interesting and rewarding consulting work environment. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate effectively with project team members, have a high level of initiative and motivation to deliver quality results, have strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to work with clients to provide value-added solutions and develop and maintain strong client relationships.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field from an accredited university

  • 8+ years of relevant experience

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Project Management Professional with 4-6 years of demonstrated project management experience.

  • Professional Engineer in Virginia or ability to obtain reciprocity within six (6) months of hire

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in teams

  • Experience in coordination with regulatory agencies

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
