Job Summary

AECOM’s Talent Acquisition team is seeking a University Relations Liaison in various locations around the US and Canada. Reporting to the Manager of University Relations, the University Relations Recruiter will be accountable for building and managing relationships with key universities, and administering the day-to-day aspects of the university recruiting process for various lines of business. Key responsibilities are:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with 10-15 key enterprise and line of business specific universities

  • Develop, engage and manage campus teams for each university inclusive of Executive Champions, Lead Ambassadors and campus team members.

  • Act as the process expert with regards to campus recruiting sources (web based, career fairs, on-campus recruiting, etc) and produce Tactical Action plans for each university responsible for owning

  • Plan and attend traditional campus events: career fairs, information sessions, on campus and on site interviews, and speaking engagements

  • Creatively foster unique campus events – non-traditional events geared toward STEM majors.

  • Ensure successful utilization of campus recruitment system at career events.

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal customers at all levels and provide timely updates on progress against goals for each university.

  • Partner with business lines and regions to develop specific recruiting strategies and source candidates for interns and entry level hires

  • Partner with alumni teams and hiring managers to execute on campus events

  • Review student applications, and conduct phone screens and in-person interviews. Screen and refer candidates for additional interviews. Provide timely follow up and correspondence.

  • Ensure recruitment process is compliant with state and federal and employment laws.

  • Creation, review and reporting of recruiting metrics and their effectiveness

  • Ideal key competencies include: strong business acumen, ability to develop and sustain relationships with business based partners, ability to drive results and change, strong understanding of metrics and how to drive performance thru metrics, strong communication skills both written and verbal, adaptability, problem solving, learning agility and the ability to deal with high levels of ambiguity.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a corporate recruiting environment

  • Ability and desire to travel 50-75% of time in peak season (Sept-Nov, Jan-Mar)

  • Knowledge of US and Canada university landscape

  • Prior recruiting experience with a focus on responsibilities for supporting college/university recruiting at both the undergraduate and graduate level

  • Understanding or knowledge of campus based software and platforms – Yello, Smashfly, Handshake and more

  • Advanced level skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Strong attention to detail; process oriented

  • Prior experience with Kenexa BrassRing

  • Excellent communication skills: verbal and written

  • Ability to multi-task, demonstrated capability to execute in the unique campus recruitment space

  • Ability to work without being micromanaged and multi-task on a daily basis

  • Desire to build knowledge and thorough understanding of business areas
