Systems Engineer

This position supports tasking at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, MD. Candidate will provide support to the PMA 262 Program Office performing analyses involving engineering, test, and training issues. Candidates will perform a wide variety of tasks for the government customer to include requirements analysis and traceability, problem/deficiency reporting, analysis, and tracking, ECP tracking, researching technical solutions to problems/deficiencies noted in test, analyses of alternatives, develop/refine recommended course(s) of action, and recommended issue resolution. Candidate will interface with a variety of technical and program personnel.

Required Skills & Experience

Education: A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution is required. Advanced degree (or professional certification) strongly desired.

Experience: A minimum of twelve (12) years of demonstrated experience in DoD engineering program management/support is required. An advanced engineering degree may be substituted for two (2) years experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidate must be able to perform research, provide analysis, document findings and determinations and provide associated recommendations. Knowledge of USN correspondence development practices and the ability to write formal engineering reports and construct briefing materials using MS Office tools such as Word, Power Point and Excel required. Familiarity with MS Project required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multitasking team environment.

Desired Skills and Experience

Demonstrated experience at NAVAIR strongly desired. Demonstrated experience as a systems engineer, test engineer, and/or training lead strongly desired. Experience with military aviation (manned or unmanned) systems strongly desired. Familiarity with NAVAIR finance processes and procedures desired.
