JOB DESCRIPTION:

 
  • Researches, designs, develops, modifies, evaluates and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.

  • Conducts experimental tests on equipment and evaluates results.

  • Develops specifications for selecting components and equipment to use.

  • May also review vendors' abilities to support development.

  • Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.

  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives.

  • Work is reviewed by supervisor/lead to measure meeting objectives. Directs established guidelines, procedures and policies.

  • PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of the variety of factors.

  • FREEDOM TO ACT: Works under general direction on routine work. May receive detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Follows established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

  • IMPACT: Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays in program schedules and may result in allocation of additional resources.

  • LIASON: Primarily internal company contacts. Infrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters.

 
JOB DUTIES:
 
  • Researches, designs, develops, modifies, evaluates and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital boards, microcomputer boards; and control and test equipment. 
  • Conducts experimental tests on electrical equipment and battery/energy systems and evaluates results. 
  • Wiring of experimental electronic breadboard modules
  • Develops specifications for selecting components and equipment to use.  

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

 
  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering and two (2) years or more experience; Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering and 0 years related experience.

  • Must be able to obtain a Full DOD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Desired Qualifications

 
  • Experience writing CAN communication code in C++.
  • Experience writing code for blue-tooth communication to external circuit board/microprocessor.
  • Experience writing C- code for serial bus control of OLED displays, or LCD Displays.
  • Experience designing interface circuits for micro-controller boards.
  • Experience writing application codes for IPHONE/IPAD to communicate to an external device through WIFI, or blue-tooth a plus.
  • Experience designing battery charging circuits for high-current charging of lithium ion batteries a plus.
  • Experience trouble-shooting microprocessor-based circuit boards.
  • Experience with surface mount discrete and IC package hardware.
