Job Summary

AECOM is hiring an Architect for our Transportation Architecture studio in NYC. This individual will collaborate directly with a Principal Architect to develop and deliver designs, construction documents and specifications on transportation projects of various scales and complexity as part of an experienced, talented project team. Quickly earn opportunities for additional responsibilities as necessary skills are developed and demonstrated.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Working closely with a Principal Architect and leading a team of junior architects and designers, preparing and presenting client-focused design solutions.

  • In collaboration with a Principal Architect, performing technical assignments of moderate to high complexity, consistent with approved schedules and budgets.

  • Supporting the pursuit of exciting new transportation projects with high-quality renderings and graphics

  • Completing and reviewing models and drawings through all design phases.

  • Coordinating and collaborating with other disciplines and departments, internally and externally.

  • Preparing or directing designs, renderings, sketches, diagrams, schematic and working drawings to illustrate design solutions.

  • Developing and documenting details to communicate design intent. .

  • Developing, adapting, or modifying design features and details.

  • Selecting and specifying finish materials and furniture.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture or Masters in Architecture from a NAAB accredited university or related degree and 4+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Autodesk CAD and BIM-Revit

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to lead a team and deliver complex technical drawings on time and on budget.

  • Ability to interact with senior representatives of client organizations.

  • Knowledge of project design and construction document production, standard construction techniques and principles.

  • Familiarity with building materials and detailing, construction documents organization.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Bentley Microstation experience is a plus

  • 6+ years of experience is preferred

  • Architectural license is preferred

  • Experience in transportation projects, public buildings, and public realm design is preferred
