ManTech is seeking a junior level software engineer/programmer to become an integral part of our Combat Integration and Identification Systems Engineering team.  Successful candidates will conduct innovative software development solutions for the AN/UPX-46 and AN/UPX-29A Interrogator Systems along with other various IFF systems for our customer at Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Webster Outlying Field in St. Inigoes, MD.  Projects will entail execution of scientific, engineering and technical services required for the design, development, integration, test, and maintenance of the AN/UPX-46 system along with other various IFF systems and interfaces.  This position offers the opportunity to work on an integrated development team software design and development including all phases of the software development life-cycle.


  • Analyze technology/capability gaps, research, develop, and deploy software solutions
  • Work with project leads to define and develop associated deliverables
  • Collaborate with other developers to design and optimize code
  • Conduct integration, test, bug fixes, and other software maintenance activities
  • Assist in the creation of technical documentation and user guides in support of developed software

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 0-3 years of experience in software development
  • Applied experience programming in a Linux environment
  • Applied experience with C/C++, and Java
  • Must be a US Citizen for clearance regulations. Please do not apply if you do not have US Citizenship.
  • Must be able to receive/attain a secret clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Highly desired: Active or inactive US DoD security clearance.
  • Candidates should be self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Experience using Wireshark
  • Experience using Eclipse IDE for Development
  • Experience using SVN for source code configuration management
