SAIC is seeking a software engineer/developer to join one of our AF programs within our Intelligence division. The Cloud One program incorporates the capabilities of commercial cloud and Managed Service Providers (MSP) residing in Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). Cloud One facilitates the USAF and USA’s efforts to migrate applications to a cloud environment, allowing the closure of data centers to support the Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI) and allowing for increased efficiencies across the entire spectrum of the USAF and USA's IT operations.


The candidate for this position will be responsible for the following:


  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs the Air Force’s application software.
  • Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting. End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software.
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
  • Ensures software standards are met.  


·         A Bachelor’s degree and 2 years or more experience in software engineering/development

·         Active Secret clearance

·         Experience supporting USAF software development projects

·         Experience with a broad set of modern and legacy software  programming languages such as, .Net. Java, JavaScript, Python, React, Angular

·         Containers (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)

·         Build Automation (e.g. Jenkins)

·         Automated Testing (e.g. Junit, TestNG, Jest, Mockito, Cucumber, etc.)

·         Automated UI Testing (e.g. Selenium)

·         Web Services (e.g. REST)

·         Cloud Computing Services (e.g. AWS, Azure)

·         Agile Management Tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence)

·         Source Code Management (e.g. GitLab)

·         Artifact Repository (e.g. Artifactory)

·         Dependency Injection Frameworks (e.g. Spring, Java EE)

·         Object oriented design – apply design patterns to common problems

·         Object-relational mapping frameworks (e.g. Hibernate)

·         Experience supporting software migration efforts

·         Ability to develop and execute unit and integration tests

·         Security + (or other IAT II equivalent) certification
