SAIC’s NSCG seeking an Algorithm Development and Testing Team Lead to coordinate and lead a team of subject matter experts on algorithm development, analytic studies and software testing on space related topics.  This position will lead a team to provide analytic studies to answer technical requests from the customer and evaluate developed software.  The position focuses on organizing a team to develop new algorithms to process sensor data and contribute to evaluation of a prototype system’s metrics and capabilities.  This lead’s primary responsibilities are to work with the team of experts to keep efforts and tasks on time and communicate progress and results to the customer.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Assessing study requests and generating a study terms of reference for a new project

  • Lead meetings to work technical details of a project with the customer and work partners

  • Ability to understand technical analysis in a variety of areas such as orbit mechanics, data analytics and statistics

  • Routine collaboration with other subject matter experts on the team to improve the products for the customer


  • Active TS/SCI with Poly
  • Bachelor's and 14 yrs, Master's and 12yrs or PhD and 9 yrs experience; or relevant work experience in a technical field of engineering, mathematics or physics
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with similar type customers or job responsibilities

  • Experience with leading teams working on technical projects or analysis

  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Aptitude for working with technical teams
  • Effective customer engagement, interpersonal communications, writing, and briefing skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior assignments in space operations, modeling and/or data analytics supporting Air Force or NRO customers

  • Understanding of Space Situational Awareness (SSA) issues

  • Familiarity with optical or RF systems and their operation

  • Familiarity with tools such as STK or other modeling and simulation tools or environments
