About the SAIC MSI Program

Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) has been awarded a $165 million contract by the Commonwealth of Virginia to serve as a Multi-sourcing service integrator (MSI). SAIC will provide an innovative approach to assist the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) with modernizing the state’s technology infrastructure. Under the contract, SAIC will coordinate and monitor multiple IT infrastructure services suppliers for state executive branch agencies. The MSI is the cornerstone of a strategy that will diversify the state’s portfolio of suppliers, improve service delivery quality, ensure cost-competitiveness, and provide transparency and accountability into the commonwealth’s service delivery platform.

Position Summary

SAIC is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team supporting a major state & local government customer. The Business Analyst is responsible for processing service requests from customers to have solutions and pricing developed by the appropriate parties. The ideal candidate must have a strong technical background associated with enterprise support of large infrastructure support. Essential duties of this position include:

  • Review service request submissions for validation of requirements provided by the customer.
  • Use technical and contractual knowledge for determination of appropriate supporting parties for service requests.
  • Provide guidance to customers on appropriate submission methods.
  • Identify trends for development of Service Catalog
  • Produce reports on service request submissions
  • Provide solution documentation for basic level technical requests
  • Perform quality assurance of solutions provided

The Business Analyst is highly engaged in the day-to-day activities of the Request for Estimate and Request for Solution service requests. Effective communication skills for internal and external conversations is essential for success in this position. The position will have opportunities for growth in technical knowledge and in process improvement initiatives. The selected candidate will need to be motivated for success and highly engaged in performance towards assigned responsibilities.


Required Experience: 

  • Bachelors in a relevant field and 0-1+ years of experience 
  • Must be able to work in a team setting 
  • Must be able to work independently on tasks
  • Must be able to work in a fast paved environment
  • Must be able to help resolve complex IT issues 
  • ITIL certification preferred (Foundation or above)
  • Strong skills with: MS Office products and Microsoft SharePoint

  • Travel: 5% or as needed (intrastate)
