Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Archaeological Technician I for employment in the Portland, OR office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

This is a part-time position, meaning work days and times will be determined on an as-needed basis.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct all aspects of archaeological field work, including survey, site recordation, site testing and evaluations, monitoring, and data recovery

  • Assist with mapping responsibilities in the field, including collection of GPS data using Trimble units

  • Conduct technical research and writing for reporting efforts

  • Analyze and document prehistoric and historic sites and artifacts

  • Work independently under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

Must have valid, U.S. Driver's license

Must be able to perform field work, without restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field

  • A minimum of one (1) years of experience with a wide range of field methodologies, including archaeological survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring required; experience in Pacific Northwest preferred

  • Current valid driver’s license and U.S. government issued identification required

  • Experience with Geospatial technology including GPS and GIS
