This Project Scheduler position requires at least a DoD Top Secret, SCI eligible clearance and located at Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Segundo, CA.
Work with Enterprise Ground Services (EGS) Mission Management, Vendors and other subcontractors to gather scheduling and milestone input to initially build near-term Road-maps and longer term IMS’ as needed.
Manage the live schedules and IMS and ensure that they are kept up to date. Raise potential schedule issues as appropriate to EGS management. Work to help resolve/mitigate potential schedule issues.
Work with the various EGS Scrum teams and the Scum-Masters and help them with Product Increment and Sprint planning.
Apply a Systems Engineering/space systems perspective and knowledge to schedule planning and issue resolution. This role is not just for someone who is a basic scheduler or junior PM. You will be expected to have an understanding of the EGS program and the teams that work it. Your engineering experience should allow you to see potential schedule and risk issues as you plan/manage the IMS.
Attend EGS PMRs and provide input and preparation as required by presenters.
Located at SMC at Los Angles Air Force Base but travel as required to other sites including but not limited to Colorado Springs, CO, Kirtland AFB, NM and DC Metro.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance, TS-SCI strongly preferred
10+ years actively working as a System Engineer and/or Project Manager (background in Space Systems preferred to include sensors, space vehicles and ground stations).
Previous experience at SMC is strongly preferred.
Understanding of Agile development process and knowledge of how to schedule sprints and product increments.
Ability to work independently with geographically dispersed team
Excellent Communications skills (written and oral)
Ability to easily and comfortably interact with all levels in the Govt. team and the EGS vendors/subcontractors.
Persistence and Commitment. You will often be chasing down extremely busy Govt folks who may not be easy to get meetings with.
Expertise in MS Project, MS Excel and other MS Office tools
