FMS F/A-18 Training Specialist

This position support the development of training and training devices associated with the PMA-265 Kuwait FMS F/A-18 program. The successful candidate will assess and describe training gaps, then develop and deploy recommended training capability solutions based on data-driven analyses. Assist the program office with training equipment and training facilities analyses and metrics reporting; assess and report training requirements throughout the lifecycle of the F/A-18E/F and associated systems. Draft review and distribute documents in support of the acquisition process.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with all presentation and instructional procedures, curriculum, training aids, devices, and equipment operation and maintenance procedures associated with the F/A-18 E/F.
  • Possess knowledge of computer technology application as it applies to instructional presentation and the use of classroom training aids.
  • Excellent communication skills that allow the trainer to communicate with government officials regarding program status, milestones, obstacles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools


BS or BA degree in a Business, Management or Relevant Technical Discipline.

Allowable Substitution:

An AS or AA degree and an additional four (4) years of experience, OR an additional six (6) years of experience may he substituted for a BS or BA degree.


At least four (4) years of experience in program management, technical or business analysis discipline; and included in the four (4) years of experience there must be at least two (2) years professional experience in technical efforts supporting major weapon systems and components development with specific knowledge of FMS and Defense Security Assistance Programs. Three (3) years of DoD training system acquisition experience is desired. Demonstrated experience in the program/project status and schedules. Demonstrated knowledge of SECNAV, OPNAV and OSD policy and documentation related to lifecycle management of military acquisition programs (as specified in the DoD 5000 series). Familiarity with program acquisition, funding and contract documentation for military programs.
