ManTech is seeking an Network Security Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting our Marine Corps Systems Command support team.

Specifically, the successful candidate will be performing a wide variety of systems, network, and cyber engineering and automation functions that will enable our Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group (MCCOG) customers to develop new capabilities, processes, and automation practices for the Enterprise and Operational Forces.

This role requires an active DoD SECRET clearance.


  • Conduct detailed cybersecurity assessments of systems ranging in size from stand-alone systems to Systems spanning the Department of Defense Information Networks (DODIN) into the tactical arena.
  • Uses automated tools as well as manual procedures to determine potential vulnerabilities to automated systems caused by technical, policy or procedural shortfalls.
  • Analyzes requirements for assigned functional areas to plan for software and hardware deployment, operating systems and network, user enhancements, or other similar primary automation projects.
  • Plans, implements, manage, monitor and upgrade security measures:
  • This includes administering and installing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, intrusion prevention systems, SIEM solutions and related software systems.
  • Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities:
  • Performing penetration testing and vulnerability assessments from time to time is an essential part of cybersecurity engineering.
  • Prepare presentations, briefings, develop and implement cost-benefits analsis.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience with tasks such as intrusion detection, incident response and computer forensics threats within Department of Defense IT environments.
  • Experience with firewalls (Fortinet and Palo Alto), routers, intrusion detection systems and intrusion prevention systems.
  • Must possess and maintain DoD 8570 IASAE II qualifying certification.
  • Expert enterprise-level security strategic planning experience.
  • Knowledge of DoD (Department of Defense) 8500 series Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
  • Experience with building your own scripts and tools.
  • Experience with commonly used languages Python, C++, Java, Ruby, Node, Go and/or PowerShell
  • Demonstrated experience with F5 load balancers desired.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of automated systems theory, architecture, hardware, software, and their interrelationships, to define automated systems requirements in terms and criteria leading to development of systems with desire capabilities, and to conduct feasibility studies.
  • Knowledge of network security architectures, including firewalls, Demilitarized Zones (DMZ), router ACLs (Access Control Lists), and web content filters Intrusion Detection System (IDS) cues and anti-virus alerts FireEye HX Endpoint Security Tool and network monitoring and threat intelligence tools.
  • Ability to prepare presentations, briefings, develop and implement cost-benefits analysis.
  • The candidate should have:

? A strong independent work ethic.
? At least 5 years of experience within Department of Defense IT environments.
? Familiarity with Navy/Marine Corps interoperability requirements is preferred.
? Experience with F5 load balancers.


Master’s Degree in Technology Management, Information Technology, e-Business or other related field (+12 years’ experience), Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Management, Information Technology, e-Business or other related field (+14 years’ experience), Associates’ Degree (+16 years’ experience) or High School Diploma (+19 years’ experience).
