Job Summary

The AECOM Remediation Practice seeks a Senior Hydrogeologist to join our Austin, TX team. We seek candidates to immediately contribute to the successful delivery of existing projects, and to promote growth in existing and new markets. The successful candidate will assume leadership of projects and within the department, and will develop strong relationships with the team, and with clients to pursue new opportunities. We desire a candidate who can be the technical lead across a breadth of technical and regulatory disciplines, and to develop staff into a broad technical team to fulfill project needs. We seek candidates with demonstrated qualifications in technical performance, business development, and leadership roles.

This position requires excellent written and spoken communication skills, organizational skills, flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn new skills. The successful candidate will communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as a part of a project team.

The successful candidate will be committed to the team’s success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the AECOM Quality Management System.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Develop new business, including marketing and proposing to potential and existing clients; secure and manage clients and contracts

  • Manage large, complex projects, responsible for technical delivery, schedule and fiscal management, client liaison, reporting requirements, and team coordination

  • Assume technical and project responsibility for soil, groundwater, and vapor investigation and remediation projects; plan, schedule, coordinate. Deliver technical work in accordance with the contracted scope, budget, schedule, law, and industry standard

  • Coordinate and prepare written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums; analyze data and develop supported conclusions

  • Work collaboratively across AECOM business lines

  • Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical methodologies and add value to client service offerings

  • Develop and mentor junior staff

Minimum Requirements

  • BS/BA and 8 years of relevant work experience or AA or AS and 10 years of relevant work experience or diploma certificate.

  • A valid driver's license

  • Some overnight travel.
