AMENTUM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on theAfghanistan - EAGLEcontract for a� Generator Mechanic. The mechanic performs troubleshooting, maintenance and repair activities on variouspieces of diesel and gas generators below 750KVA-Kilo Volt Amperes.Maintains record of repairs required, parts used and labor time.Measures velocity, horsepower, revolutions per minute (rpm), amperage,circuitry, and voltage of units or parts to diagnose problems, usingammeters, voltmeters, watt meters, and other testing devices.Welds, brazes, or solders electrical connections.Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRSTSafety Policies and Procedures.Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culturethat achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of theAC FIRST Quality Management System.Duties may vary dependent on area of assignment.Performs other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Must be US citizen
Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience.
Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa.
1-3 years experience in power generation equipment repairs required.
Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa.
Must complete General Trade Skills PQS within 30 days of hire.
Must be able to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or
processes to evaluate quality or performance.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs, and
maintenance.
Determines causes of operating errors and provides corrective actions.Ability to communicate fluently in the English language, both written and orally.
Must be able to understand and interpret wiring diagrams
Military Training or similar vocational education trade training preferred
1-3 years experience in Electrical background preferred
Experience in the Army 52 D or 91 D MOS or equivalent preferred
