Inspector Howitzer Repair - Military veterans preferred

AMENTUM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the� EAGLE� contract for a� Inspector Howitzer Repair. The Inspector performs initial inspections to determine the nature and extent of Howitzerweapon system repairs required. Performs final inspections on weapon system after repairs have been completed. The Inspector disassembles and examines parts and assemblies as required andreassembles and adjusts components. Determines serviceability of parts and diagnoses and determines remediesfor failures commonly encountered in the repair of weapon systems using a variety of diagnostic techniques and TMDE with little or no supervision.Prepares records of inspection/tests and makes them available to the QA/QC Department. Safely uses common hand tools and shop equipment effectively withoutassistance. May instruct other employees in proper repair maintenance procedures. Cross trains when required to ensure maximum flexibility and possession oftechnical skills in the development and maintenance of quality programs. Ensures compliance with government and corporate regulations, company SOPs, directives, and technical manuals to establish and maintain a quality management program. Coordinates with Shop Supervisor when technical problems arise and in-depth mechanical knowledge is required. Maintains cross-talk with QA and LAR representatives. Conducts surveillances and performs other administrative duties as required within the Quality Control Office. Ensures strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures. Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culturethat achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of theAC FIRST Quality Management System. Performs other duties as assigned.
3-5 years experience in Howitzer Armament Systems at DS/GS level
Must be US citizen
required on M119 105MM, M198 155MM and M777 155MM Howitzer.
1-3 years inspection experience required.
U.S. Army MOS 45K, 91F or USMC MOS 2131 required.
Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or
educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience.
Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college
and vice versa.
Must complete a Quality Control Inspector PQS test within 30 days of hire.
Must have knowledge of diagnostic tools and forms used at the unit and
DS/GS level.
Must have good knowledge of tools and repair equipment.
Must be able to read and understand Howitzer weapon system schematics.
Must have thorough knowledge of military technical publications.
Must have a collaborative work style that fosters cooperation and team work.
