AMENTUM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on theEAGLE Afghanistan contract for an��?��� Maintenance Inspector.perform skilled initial technical inspections, diagnostic service, maintenance, and repairwork on automotive and related equipment; in particularthe MRAP MATV-series. NSOCC-A Mechanic-Inspector requires a high degree of technical knowledge, as well as the abilityto exercise independent judgment in determining repair methods. Performs inspections on different classifications ofwheeled vehicles/equipment at the unit and DS/GS levels. Conducts initial inspections upon deliveryof equipment and records data information for the processing of maintenance work orders, troubleshoots identified faults and in-process inspections as required during the repair phase. Conducts a final inspection upon completion of maintenance repairs to ensure qualityproduct outputs are met. Normal workloadwill include performing preventive maintenance tasks on equipment, troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical problems, and servicing heavyequipment under remote/austere expeditionary standards including to fly-awayoffsite locations. Prepares records of inspection/tests and make them available to the QA/QC Department. Keyskill sets required for this position are the abilityto quicklyand accurately determine problem sources to order repair parts correctlythe first time; perform preventive maintenance tasks on a varietyof vehicles and motorized equipment; understand and effectivelycarryout verbal andwritten instructions; read and interpret service manuals, schematics, charts, etc.; handle all physical requirements to repair equipment with manual tools (if necessary); and the abilityto establish and maintain effectiveworking relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and supporting Units. Verifies procedures being used are adequate for the effective control of quality, rejects defective workmanship and materials, verifies and certifies the test results on supporting documents. Provides guidance and technical assistance to shop maintenance personnel on inspection principles ofworkmanship, procedures to be employed, and qualityofwork expected. Ensures compliance with government and corporate regulations, companySOPs, directives, and technicalmanuals to establish and maintain a qualitymanagement program. Maintains cross-talkwith QA and LAR representatives. Coordinates with QualityControl Supervisor and/or Lead when performing inspections. Cross trainswhen required to ensure maximum flexibilityand possession of technical skills in the evelopment and maintenance of qualityprograms. Performs troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs on various pieces of wheeled vehicles/equipment, both tactical and non-tactical when not performing Inspector duties. Ensure strict compliance to safetypractices and support the AC FIRST SafetyPolicies and Procedures. Instills a safetyfirst mentalitywithin respective work areas and a culture that achieves lowaccident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST QualityManagementSystem. Performs other duties as assigned.
Active Secret / Tier 3
Must be able to obtain a Drivers license.
Must be US citizen
Must be able to obtain an Army Standard license.
Must be able to pass General Trade Skill PQS within 30 days of hire.
Must complete the Quality Control Inspector PQS test within 30 days of hire.
Full or partial ASE certification preferred
High School diploma or equivalent required.
US Army MOS 91 Series or other military equivalent preferred.
Position requires at least 5 years of experience with vehicle mechanical repair across a range of light, medium, and heavy duty vehicles, which includes at least 2-3 year of experience in the automotive mechanical repair of the MATV (M1240A1) MRAP variant.
Prior inspection experience preferred.
Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa.
Must be able to obtain a 5984-E Army Standard license upon arrival in Afghanistan.
TIA training may be required for TARP QC Inspectors.
Must have knowledge of diagnostic tools and forms used at the unit and DS/GS level. d) Must be able to read vehicle/equipment schematics.
Must have a collaborative work style that fosters cooperation and team work.
Valid drivers license, is required.
