AMENTUM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the EAGLE Afghanistan contract for an� Maintenance Inspector.Perform skilled initial technical inspections, diagnostic service, maintenance, and repair work on automotive and related equipment; in particular the MRAP MaxxPro and MATV-series. NSOCC-A Mechanic-Inspector requires a high degree of technical knowledge, as well as the ability to exercise independent judgment in determining repair methods. Performs inspections on different classifications of wheeled vehicles/equipment at the unit and DS/GS levels. Conducts initial inspections upon delivery of equipment and records data information for the processing of maintenance work orders, troubleshoots identified faults and in-process inspections as required during the repair phase. Conducts a final inspection upon completion of maintenance repairs to ensure quality product outputs are met. Normal work load will include performing preventive maintenance tasks on equipment, troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical problems, and servicing heavy equipment under remote/austere expeditionary standards including to fly-away off site locations. Prepares records of inspection/tests and make them available to the QA/QC Department. Key skill sets required for this position are the ability to quickly and accurately determine problem sources to order repair parts correctly the first time; perform preventive maintenance tasks on a variety of vehicles and motorized equipment; understand and effectively carry out verbal and written instructions; read and interpret service manuals, schematics, charts, etc.; handle all physical requirements to repair equipment with manual tools (if necessary); and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and supporting Units. Verifies procedures being used are adequate for the effective control of quality, rejects defective workmanship and materials, verifies and certifies the test results on supporting documents. Provides guidance and technical assistance to shop maintenance personnel on inspection principles of workmanship, procedures to be employed, and quality of work expected. Ensures compliance with government and corporate regulations, company SOPs, directives, and technical manuals to establish and maintain a quality management program. Maintains cross-talk with QA and LAR representatives. Coordinates with Quality Control Supervisor and/or Lead when performing inspections. Cross trains when required to ensure maximum flexibility and possession of technical skills in the development and maintenance of quality programs. Performs troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs on various pieces of wheeled vehicles/equipment, both tactical and non-tactical when not performing Inspector duties. Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures. Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieve low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality Management System. Performs other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
NACI / Tier 1 for US Citizens
Must be US citizen
Must be able to obtain a Drivers license.
Must be able to obtain an Army Standard license.
Must be able to pass General Trade Skill PQS within 30 days of hire.
Must complete the Quality Control Inspector PQS test within 30 days of hire.
1 - 2 years of wheeled vehicle maintenance experience required.
Prior inspection experience preferred. c) Work experience maybe substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may
Be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2)years of experience is equivalent to (2)years of college and vice versa.
Must be able to obtain a 5984-E Army Standard license upon arrival in Afghanistan.
Must have knowledge of diagnostic tools and forms used at the unit and DS/GS level. d) Must be able to read vehicle/equipment schematics.TIA training maybe required for TARP QC Inspectors.
Must have a collaborative work style that fosters cooperation and teamwork.
Valid drivers license is required.
Full or partial ASE certification preferred.
Prior inspection experience preferred.
U S Army MOS 91 Series or other military equivalent preferred.
