Overview
FTI is looking for a highly qualified person for a Technical Project Manager role that will be responsible for supporting and managing New Technology Programs within the DoD environment on high profile programs, primarily in San Diego, CA. This individual will be supporting the ADNS (Automated Digital Network Systems) working with the Airborne Community to increase the performance and security of the communication platforms which will involve all aspects including Networks, Voice, Video, Data, WAN, and more.
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for assisting the Operations Manager with achieving financial, execution, and customer satisfaction objectives as well as internal business process improvements. This role is predominantly operations focused with an emphasis on both long-term and short-term plans and projects. This will require presentation of solutions in response to sets of defined and anticipated requirements determined by clients and corporate.

Under limited supervision and direction, oversees all phases of the project management life-cycle for large, complex projects. Ensures cross-project work is properly allocated, staffed, and monitored allowing for successful execution that delivers value to the client(s) and corporation
Ensures application of PMI and SDLC standards in managing of projects
Regularly exercises discretionary and substantial decision-making authority
Assumes responsibility for overall management, governance, direction and execution of assigned projects
Must have the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment to ensure tasks, milestones, and deliverables are successfully met
Focuses on execution monitoring, control, team integration, and change management
Identifies deviations from financial and execution plan and implement corrective actions as required to ensure project success
Recommends enhancements to quality control objectives across programmatic execution, planning, and reporting phases
Creates and presents project status reports to senior management that reflect contract, financial, resource, and execution status as well as risks, mitigations, and opportunities for improvement and business growth
Understands organizational strategy, adjusting to shifts in the strategy as needed
Ensures adherence to related company policies, processes and procedures
Recommends enhancements or improvements for Operations Group, and Corporate processes and procedures
Actively participates in growth of the business by identifying and developing approaches to new business opportunities with new and/or current customers, and captures new opportunities
Participates and supports bid and proposal efforts
Maximizes profitability through client consulting and collaboratively working with a team
Manages financial operations (accounting, budgeting, control, risk and reporting) – knowledge of Unanet is ideal
Forecasting financial performance, pricing products and services, strengthening operations, identifying new markets, improving margins, as well as assessing and monitoring risks
Driving evaluation and implementation of Small Business Innovation Research technologies into customer programs
Education/Qualifications
Active DoD Secret Clearance is required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
Minimum of 7 years’ experience is required. MBA or post-graduate degree in a related field preferred
At least five (5) years of project/program management with Technical Program experience on programs/projects supporting the Department of Defense
Highly prefer experience with Network Engineering or Information Assurance in either a "hands on" capacity or overseeing an implementation project/knowledge of the technology and hardware
Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and decision-making skills
Excellent analytical, project management, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to successfully lead and/or collaborate with internal and external customers
Excellent presentation skills
Understanding of business challenges and opportunities driven by technology and regulations unique to the Defense industry highly desired
Must be able to travel – up to 25%
