Senior Software Engineer - Robotic Planning Subsystem

You will architect and implement features required for the Robotic Planning Subsystem (RPS) in the Mars 2020 flight mission. Duties include:

1) Work with the RPS team leads to design and implement software primarily used by the M2020 Rover Planners. 2) Features and responsibilities will be provided by RPS leads based on the direction and requests from MOS and Rover Operations (RO) leads. 3) Features may require interfacing with different M2020 Subsystems and teams 4) Travel Required - 25%

Required Skills and Traits : ? Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with typically 3 years of experience; Masters degree in similar discipline with a minimum of 1 year of related experience; or PhD in similar discipline

? Familiarity with Scrum/Agile software development process

? Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming (OOP) languages, such as Java, and/or Python

? Wide-ranging and advanced knowledge in one or more of the following areas: software engineering, systems engineering, project systems engineering, and test engineering

? Experience working independently on key projects and assignments with only limited direction while being evaluated on completion of objectives and institutional goals

Other Desired Skills: ? Strong verbal and written communication and team skills

? Advanced knowledge of applicable JPL policies and procedures

? Experience leading tasks and coordinating working groups on projects in system development, test, and/or operations

? Extensive technical knowledge and ability to understand and integrate the elements of project leadership, system engineering, and verification and validation of large-scale ground systems in order to achieve mission, science and engineering goals.

? Proficiency with software development build/release and orchestration processes and tools, such as Jenkins, GitHub, Docker, and Artifactory

? Working knowledge of industry leading testing tools such as Robot Framework, Selenium, TestRails, or others
