Sellafield Ltd awarded a 20-year contract to four organisations in May 2019, which will help deliver the site’s decommissioning programme. The Programme and Project Partners (PPP) was developed to help make the Sellafield site safer, sooner.

The new approach will support the transformation of the company from a nuclear operator into a world leader in environmental remediation and is one of the most complex portfolios of construction projects in the world, stretching over many decades.

KBR is playing an integral part in the delivery of PPP acting as the Integration Partner, leading on the delivery & controls of numerous multi-million pound construction projects. Now is your chance to be part of this vital work, a once-in-a-career opportunity, in the role of Estimator.

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision you'll be, solving complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices in project controls related to the preliminary or definitive estimates for projects.
  • Calculating estimates by using processes, labour availability and productivity, material prices, based on historical data.
  • Tabulating cost studies and prospect analysis.
  • Using experience and problem solving skills to develop and improve processes.

Essential:

  • Hold, have held or be eligible to apply for UK based security clearance.
  • Experience in building preliminary and definitive Estimates (Excel) and populating/estimating against defined scope.
  • Experience in working with a variety of technical standards.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with team members to achieve optimal time, cost, performance goals.
  • Current understanding of labour, productivity and market rates throughout the UK, including specialist sub-contract charges, for industrial services and construction works.
  • Current understanding of UK materials rates and costs from a variety of sources.
  • Able to undertake cost studies.
  • Establishes priorities for the completion of assigned tasks in compliance with policies, procedures and processes to business strategy.
  • Current understanding of UK nuclear industry preferred but not essential.
  • Good organisational skills giving the ability to deliver to timeframes and estimates.
  • Good written, oral, comprehension and presentational skills to enable effective communication with customers and management.
  • Ability to perform routine assignments, work independently, keeping management adequately informed.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of people with differing skills and experience.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in the Public Sector and Nuclear environments.
  • Broad knowledge of industrial services market.
  • Experience of working in a secure environment.
  • Experience of working on Bids and Proposals.
