ABOUT THIS POSITION

KBR requires a Program Manager to support the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter Joint Program Office (JPO) located in Crystal City, VA. The JPO manages the development, test, production, fielding and sustainment of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter for the USAF, USMC, USN, and International Partner and FMS customer nations.

This candidate will support the F-35 Follow-on Modernization/Block 4 Program Manager across the proposal development and contract award for F-35 Air System including Air System Development (ASD) specific to the F-35 Block 4 Continuous Capability Development and Deployment (C2D2) approach.

The candidate will synchronize planning and schedules across the Block 4 team, coordinating Service and Partner unique requirements, and facilitating Block 4 planning/reporting in the F-35 enterprise. The candidate will provide programmatic support across the proposal and contract award lifecycle of multiple contract awards, including Development Foundation and Development and Test Viability contracts. The candidate will coordinate with various functions on the team to develop integrated technical/project solutions to both tactical and strategic program risks and issues. The candidate must work well with a widely-dispersed team and be assertive in capturing key inputs and data to incorporate into various products. The candidate must also have excellent communication skills (written, verbal and active listening). The candidate must be comfortable working in a very dynamic, fluid environment and enjoy problem solving.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and monitoring program plans including cost, schedule and performance estimates. Ensuring project outputs are delivered on schedule and within funding.
  • Identifiying program problems, and recommending solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
  • Developing staffing plans and managing the utilization of resources to meet customer schedules and requirements.
  • Preparing and delivering briefings for formal interchanges with customer management.
  • Reviewing and approving program deliverables prior to submittal to customer.Travel: Occasional travel required (10-15%) to, Fort Worth, TX, and other F-35 acquisition and operations locations may be required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Security Clearance: Secret
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Business, Management or a degree relevant to the position SUBSTITUTION: eight (8) years of experience may be substituted for a Bachelors degree
  • Eight (8) years of experience in program management, technical or business analysis discipline; and included in the eight (8) years, there must be at least four (4) years of experience in program management, technical or business analysis; and included in the four (4) years, there must be two (2) years professional experience in technical efforts supporting major weapon systems and components development
  • Familiarity with DoD 5000.02 acquisition policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, policies, and practices of system acquisition to plan, organize, and coordinate critical aspects of the development, production, and deployment of systems, subsystems, and equipment
  • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products
