Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer Student Intern for employment in the Minneapolis, MN office. This intern position would make an important contribution to the services our department provides locally, and across the country.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work in our Roadway group to develop plans for DBB, DB, and P3 projects.

  • Work for clients such as the Fargo Moorhead Diversion Authority (Fargo Moorhead Area Diversion), MDOT (Gordie Howe International Bridge), TXDOT (LBJ East - ), MnDOT, the City of Minneapolis, Metropolitan Council, Metro Transit, Metro Counties, and other local agencies.

  • Builds analytic and design skills.

  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Collects and analyzes field data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in traffic or transportation engineering or other related

  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software.
