Job Summary

AECOM is looking for a mid-level EMIS Software Implementation consultant with project experience implementing and configuring Environmental, Health, and Safety, Risk Management, Remediation, Quality, Security and Sustainability (EMIS) software solutions.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Works under minimal supervision.

  • Works independently and effectively on project tasks from your home office.

  • Guide clients through the implementation process.

  • Plan and create task instructions for junior staff to execute; supervise the execution.

  • Plans and manages implementation and integration of new technologies.

  • Viewed as subject matter expert to clients and within AECOM.

  • Good communication skills, specifically to present in front of a client audience and work collaboratively with a mixed team of AECOM and client members.

  • The position requires moderate travel, estimated at 25%, but can vary significantly by project.

  • The position is remote, however desk space can be provided at Ontario AECOM office.

  • Fully qualified scientist.

  • Utilizes scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

  • Requires general familiarity within a broad field of scientific knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields.

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Works under only general direction.

  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.

  • Solves problems by use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.

  • Participates in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives.

  • Conducts analysis and investigation work obtained from a variety of sources.

  • Performs inspections and tests to ensure compliance.

  • Participates in developing corrective measures and procedures.

  • Formulates hypothesis, performs research and makes recommendation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree + 4 years of related experience or Diploma/Certificate + 6 years of related experience or HS/GED + 8 years of related experience - demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent.

  • 4 years of EMIS related experience or similar MIS implementation and configuration experience.

  • Previous application specialist experience with one or more off the shelf EHS software packages (for example, Airsweb, Dakota, Cority, ENFOS, Enablon, EtQ Reliance, EQiUS, Intelex, Sphera Solutions or similar).

  • Experience with and understanding of database and programming platforms such as Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, NoSQL, or similar.

  • Strong understanding of MS Office, particularly Excel in the context of data analyst and preparation.

  • A level of experience in coding with a common language such as Python, Visual Studio, Visual Basic for Applications, HTML, Java/JavaScript, SQL Scripting or similar.

  • Good technical writing skills.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Technical Project Management Experience, particularly on an EMIS implementation.

  • Experience in development/coding, system administration, database management and/or configuration.

  • Experience with reporting software such as Tableau, SAP’s Crystal Enterprise, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), MS Power BI, etc.

  • Experience with APIs, data integrations between systems, extract-transform-load (ETL) programs and processes.
