SAIC is seeking Mission Maintenance Technicians to support installation, operations, maintenance, repairs, and modification of equipment in support of the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS) CCIC2S/Mission Maintenance Work Center, by performing a variety of maintenance and technical support on products, such as equipment, integrated systems, and subsystems, and software at customer and field locations 24/7. 


The NISSC II effort establishes requirements for OM&S that support classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability in organizational work centers at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS), Peterson Air Force Base (PAFB), Colorado; Offutt AFB (OAFB), Nebraska; Vandenberg AFB (VAFB), California; and other sites, worldwide.  This specific position will have a place of performance in Colorado Springs.


As a member of the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS) Mission Maintenance work center, the selected candidate will work on a 24X7 crew and is responsible for a variety of CMAFS Combatant Commanders Integrated Command and Control System (CCIC2S) hardware maintenance systems for all CMAFS mission center, and will be responsible for:

  • Installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and modifying equipment in 24/7 support of Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS) Mission Maintenance work center by performing a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems, and subsystems, and software at customer and field locations

  • Ensuring all hardware availability in support of the Air, Missile, and Space warning missions

  • Performing maintenance on various mission systems within CMAFS mission centers

  • Crew duties, including meeting response times for failures and ensuring scheduled tasks are completed

  • Identifying, troubleshooting, and repairing failed equipment and deficiencies

  • Coordinating maintenance actions with 21CS Systems Center, Comm Focal Point, & CMAC crew

  • Posting Technical Operations (TO) changes
  • Performing Preventive Maintenance and Corrosion Control Inspections; documenting any deficiencies noted

  • Meeting and documenting crew training objectives, including dry runs of Emergency Action Plans (EAP)

  • Preparing and entering shift documentation (Log/IISIS Inputs)

  • Generating maintenance incident reports to IRs to identify, document, and track system issues and anomalies

  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
  • Analyze and evaluate product performances
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time

  • Install upgrades and remove products ensuring coordinative engineering field change

  • Possess knowledge of electronic fundamentals and the ability to work with various tools

  • Have a background in hardware maintenance, various types of test equipment and operations

  • Possess excellent communications skills to address/provide status to, document problems, and to interface with a broad range of internal and external customers.


Technical Skills and Background Experience Requirements:

  • Must have a TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience.  In lieu of a degree, additional technical training, equivalent to a technical associate degree, and /or demonstrated ability to perform assigned preventive and demand maintenance tasks and 3 years of experience

  • Must meet DoD 8570 certification eligibility requirements by having a (Security+, GSEC, or SSCP) Continuing Education Certificate

  • 3-5 years of experience in the telephone maintenance communications or electronics field

  • Have an understanding of Communications infrastructure, circuit signaling and cryptographic equipment

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with MILSATCOM and Cryptographic equipment preferred.
