AECOM has an immediate need for an Environmental Engineer/Hydrogeologist/Scientist. Responsibilities of this position will include executing projects involving environmental investigation and remediation services including performing field studies and analyses, drilling and sampling, creating spreadsheets, and compiling and writing reports and other documents. The candidate will successfully lead tasks and execute projects while meeting cost, schedule, safety, and quality objectives.
Additional responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Utilizes scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to a wide range of problems.
Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Works under only general direction.
Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
Solves problems by use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
Participates in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives.
Conducts analysis and investigation work obtained from a variety of sources.
Performs inspections and tests to ensure compliance.
Participates in developing corrective measures and procedures. Formulates hypothesis, performs research and makes recommendation.
BA/BS in Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or related field.
2+ years of environmental investigation and remediation services experience
Must be capable of executing field work such as sampling soil, ground water, etc.
Office/Field work ratio (70% / 30%) - field work requires the ability to lift 30 lbs, work outside in various inclement weather conditions and walk long distances or in rugged terrain
Must have a valid driver’s license
5+ years of relevant environmental investigation and remediation services experience
MS in Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or related field.
