AECOM's Central Region Transportation Multimodal Division is seeking a Senior Engineer or Planner/Area Lead to be responsible for the operation and growth of the Transit Business in the State of Texas and Gulf Coast area of the region. The qualified candidate will have experience in the delivery of major transit projects and pursuits in the State of Texas and have established relationships with all transit agencies within the state. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for the following:
Represent the Texas Area within Multimodal Leadership Team
Act as a delegate for Division or Deputy Division Manager as needed
Pursuit oversight and capture manager role as necessary
Develop and coordinate strategic teaming on pursuits as needed
Pursuit recommendations based on understanding of market, clients, and available staff
Coordination with State BD Leads on all pursuits within the area to ensure proper pursuit decisions are made
Ensure client relations are sound
Grow Transit business within area year over year
Cross business line or discipline coordination within Area as needed
Act as the supervisor for the teams within the Area
Overall performance of teams within Area
Project staffing and utilization
Coordination of all business development activities within the Area
Major project PM responsibilities
Identify and make key hires as necessary for growth of business
Additional responsibilities include:
Supports, oversees and coordinates engineering production activities for an operating unit.
Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative.
Initiates and maintains contact with senior-level management within the company and is skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation of critical issues. At this level, the individual will have demonstrated understanding of project delivery requirements, creativity, foresight, working with a multi-disciplinary team to meet project goals and deliver high quality technical excellence.
Demonstrates mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual operations problems, determining operational objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
BA/BS + 10 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership
15+ years of experience. Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent, advanced degree preferred. PE and active involvement in other professional organizations and registrations preferred.
