Job Summary

The Program and Project Management (PPM) business line specializes in the management of design and construction of community infrastructure facilities for education, healthcare, national governments, sports and leisure, justice, cultural venues, and commercial needs. From concept through completion, we provide necessary technical and administrative services to help our clients meet their program objectives. Our professionals serve as an extension of our clients' staff, protecting their interests as our own, and often working within our clients' offices. As an industry leader in program and project management, we oversee activities ranging from planning, coordination, scheduling and cost control, to design, construction and commissioning.

AECOM is hiring a Senior Program Manager to join our growing Northeast Program and Project Management Business Line. This individual will be based in New York, NY and will be involved as a Senior Program Manager for public/government facilities. This Senior Program Manager, along with regional leadership, will continue to develop strategic client relationships and win projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide leadership to ensure success in delivering our client’s program, including leading a diverse staff which may include mentoring to ensure a successful cohesive team

  • Manage the most complex and sensitive projects, often in multiple geographic locations (Many projects assigned are distinguished by their magnitude or program complexity)

  • Proactively identify potential program problems or opportunities, analyze the issues using all appropriate resources, develop alternatives and arrive at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities

  • Act independently or as a team leader representing AECOM with clients and be responsible for ensuring that the final product of the project or program team reflects the original scope and budget requirements

  • Provide for overall performance management of a group of related projects, sub-programs, and program activities managed in a coordinated way to obtain benefits not available from managing them individually

  • Responsible for contract performance to include the safety and well-being of employees, financial management, project and quality management, and generally represent the company with respect to the customer

  • Work to ensure projects and sub-programs are organized and executed in a consistent manner and fulfil customer requirements.

  • Maintain a broad view of program objectives and organizational processes and generally work within five performance domains: program strategy alignment, benefits management, stakeholder engagement, life cycle management, and program governance

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture or related field

  • Twelve (12) years of related experience in program and construction management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten to 20 years of related experience in Program and Project Management

  • Has been successful mentoring small/disadvantaged contractors

  • Experience with the Department of Design and Construction or MTA policies and procedures

  • Has led and delivered MTA Projects in excess of $20 million

  • Familiar with alternate forms of program delivery

  • Professional Engineer certification highly preferred
