AECOM is seeking a highly organized, independent, and motivated Senior Planner for our nationally recognized multimodal planning practice in our Dallas, Texas office. This is an outstanding opportunity for the right person to become involved in growing our leading work in developing transportation systems for vibrant, livable communities. We are seeking an individual with a strong interest in integrated, multimodal transportation planning. Job responsibilities include:
As a staff specialist, serves as a technical specialist for the office in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles or processes for an assigned area of responsibility (i.e., subject matter, function, type of facility or industry).
Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments that are more complex.
BA/BS + 8 YORE or AA/AS (US) + 10 YORE or Diploma/Certificate (Canada) + 10 YORE or HS/GED + 12 YORE
Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, transportation planning, urban planning, transportation, GIS, public policy, or related area of study
Ten years relevant planning experience
Master's degree in relevant discipline can substitute for up to two years of experience
Solid background in transportation planning
Strong research and writing skills, detail-oriented and able to communicate ideas and synthesize/compile text for reports
Ability to support public outreach with diverse communities
Strong understanding of pertinent planning and transportation federal, state and local laws, regulations, including recent changes, procedures and practices
Knowledge of the principles and practices of planning, research, and data collection and analysis
Knowledge of transportation planning guidance, requirements, and processes
Knowledge of public outreach techniques and experience engaging the public in projects
