Server Specialist 1 (ITC# 2410) - Military veterans preferred

The SEC ISS program is a comprehensive IT program charged with operating, managing, and advancing the SEC’s IT infrastructure. Our dynamic program team of IT leaders and large and small business partners is seeking bright, energetic and talented individuals to join us as we bring our innovative IT Service Delivery solutions to SEC. Currently, we are seeking a Server Specialist I in Bossier City, LA. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Public Trust Suitability clearance, per contract requirements.

Responsibilities

Task and responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform imaging of servers utilizing common imaging tools
• Perform patching, hardening, and automated deployments
• Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate complex issues to senior administrators    
• Build physical and virtual servers with and without previously defined images or template
• Manage\Administer VMware virtual machines
• Perform networking, Storage and Server level administration

To qualify, you must meet these basic qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 5 or more years of experience administrating servers and  operating systems (Relevant technology certification can substitute 1 year of work experience.
• Previous experience troubleshooting tier 2 issues
• Previous experience working in a virtualized environment
• Knowledge of orchestration and automation
• Knowledge of operations and scaling within the cloud environment.  
• Change Control and Configuration Management processes
• Experience with Red Hat – Enterprise Linux, Identity Management (IdM) and Satellite preferred
