Job Summary

The B+P Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Mechanical Technologist for immediate employment.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Revit MEP, Auto-CAD drafting and design of plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems

Preparation of primarily mechanical drawing deliverables and assisting with architectural, structural and electrical drawing deliverables as may be required.

Co-ordination of the Mechanical drafting with the drafting of other disciplines

Assisting Engineers for required inputs from drawings

Assisting Engineers with load calculations and sizing of ductwork and piping

Performing complex drafting assignments utilizing both manual and computer aided design and drafting software; preparation of plans, sections, elevations, details, and construction documents for review and approval

Minimum Requirements

Certificate/degree from an accredited technical training school or community college of design and drafting of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection

4+ years of practical experience in a full Revit / AutoCAD office environment with the relevant trade background as required

Experience in multi-disciplinary projects as related to buildings and infrastructure market segments

AutoCAD 3D / REVIT experience

Versed in complex drawing compositions

Ability to read multi-disciplinary plans

Self-starter and can work with minimum supervision

Excellent comprehension of verbal and written English

Experience in Design/Build project execution

Self-motivated as well as a team player

Strong proficiency in 2D & 3D AutoCAD Revi

Able to execute and correct “Red Marks” on hard copies in complex drawing compositions

Knowledgeable in drawing compositions using External References and other advanced drafting techniques

Solid drawing composition abilities

Able to graphically translate verbal and visual instructions into working drawings

Coordinate drawings with other disciplines

Familiar with Building Codes, ASHRAE standards, NFPA, SMACNA, Fire Code, ASPE

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working for contractor or consulting engineering firm.
