Job Summary

The Manchester office are looking for a qualified Architect with rich experience, with some of this from the health or science sectors, experience of defence projects would also be beneficial. Laboratory experience is essential for the role, and clean room experience would also be useful.

Ability to obtain security clearance for defence work is also a prerequisite.

  • Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.

  • Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.

  • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.

  • Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.

  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.

  • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.

  • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.

  • May review and approve conceptual designs.

  • May assist in the development of new architectural methods and techniques.

Minimum Requirements

Provides specialized skills on complex technical and/or business process matters in one or more areas of knowledge:

  • Contributes as a specialist on complex technical and/or business process function in one or more areas of knowledge, providing proposed improvements to existing processes and delivering solutions where precedent may not exist

  • Work is accomplished autonomously within established procedures and practices, with decisions guided by policy, procedure and business plan

  • Generally free to determine work priorities based on general direction from Managers

  • Provides leadership for the work group through knowledge in area of specialization, coordinating work of others

  • May lead one or more teams in the delivery of work efforts that are often complex

  • Analyzes and applies solutions to challenging issues within area of expertise within a sub-group or team within their function, business unit or technical discipline, using standard operating procedures/methodologies as a basis

  • Possess strong skills acquired through advanced training, study and experience

  • Applies broad knowledge of at least one professional discipline or advanced knowledge of specific technical and operational practices
