Job Summary

The Hazardous Waste Technician will provide day-to-day support for the hazardous waste management program at Fort Wainwright, including on-going waste management, environmental compliance, and pollution prevention, waste minimization, and recycling activities.

Tasks will include:

Picking-up, transporting, and placing waste into the local waste management area

Properly labeling and inventorying waste containers

Uploading data for waste containers into waste data management system

Performing queries and running reports out of the data management system

Facilitating the offsite waste transport of waste from the waste management area

Operating trucks, dollies, and forklifts to move and manage waste containers

Performing housekeeping duties to keep the local waste management area organized and clean.

This position will be based in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Minimum Requirements

HS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Must have a valid U.S. Driver's license

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Candidates may be subject to a pre-employment drug-screening.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working with hazardous waste management programs

CDL
