Position Summary / Responsibilities: - This position requires senior level experience in Oracle database administration. - Strong candidates should have three to five years of specialized experience administering Oracle databases in a large-scale UNIX environment. - Must be able to demonstrate skills in database implementation. - Understand and explain the various methods of Oracle data backup and recovery. - Be familiar with high availability and disaster recovery. - Demonstrate expertise in the installation and configuration of new database environments. - Provide technical and operational support of Oracle databases, such as planning projects, evaluating test results and providing suggestions to management for systems improvements, system analysis and program development recommendations. Roes and Responsibilities: - Perform Database Manager Functions to include, but not limited to, creating new Oracle databases; migration of new application upgrades. - Apply periodic Oracle stability and security updates; maintain security posture consistent with DoD STIG requirements. - Troubleshoot and diagnose customer applications, and monitor and tune Oracle instances and applications. - Perform Oracle rdbms software upgrades, effectively analyze and resolve database production problem. - Organize, evaluate and report security findings to the client organization as appropriate. - Utilize ITIL based change management, apply, verify and record Information Assurance hardening in accordance with the DoD STIG. - Monitor products within the data processing environment using such system monitors as Quest Spotlight on Oracle. - Organize and report findings to the end user organization as appropriate. - Position may requires work outside of core hours and rotating on call responsibilities. - Some limited travel may be required.
QualificationsEducation / Certification / Security Clearance Required - Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math and 10 years experience or equivalent. - Must meet 8570 IAT level II Certification or higher (Secuirty +CE) - Must have active DoD issued Secret Clearance / Top Secret is highy desired.
