SAIC is seeking a Delivery Order Senior Engineer to support installation, operations, maintenance, repairs, and modification of equipment in support of the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS), by performing a variety of maintenance and technical support on products, such as equipment, integrated systems, and subsystems, and software at customer and field locations 24/7.
The NISSC II effort establishes requirements for OM&S that support classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability in organizational work centers at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS), Peterson Air Force Base (PAFB), Colorado; Offutt AFB (OAFB), Nebraska; Vandenberg AFB (VAFB), California; and other sites, worldwide. This specific position will have a place of performance in Colorado Springs.
The role of the Delivery Order Senior Engineer is to enable success in bringing new capabilities to the CMAFS NISSC II mission through studies, prototyping, and capability assessments across the design, development, integration, test, documentation, deployment and operational acceptance phases. The qualified candidate’s duties range from on-the ground technician support to management of technical teams overseeing the hardware engineering teams. Must conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements IAW specific customer specifications, troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determines technical solution IAW product and customer specifications, and recommend courses of actions to customer representatives. Assess product needs IAW customer specifications.
Specific duties, may include, but not be limited to:
Perform Delivery Order & Task Order Collaboration for the customer to bring on new capabilities to the baseline.
Support, coordinate, control, and facilitate DO integration activities which include:
Technical baseline change management
Test and evaluation
Deployment of external DO delivered artifacts
Support configuration of the current and planned test environments
Provide test environment user support to the external contractor
Perform Special Project lead duties, where applicable, to focus on safe daily operations, oversee new project implementation and delivery
Review and update drawings, S-Plans or new installation documents and provide comments and feedback as needed to support DO integration
Conducting site surveys; assesses and documents current site network configuration and site-unique requirements
Recommending specifications for hardware acquisitions
Preparing engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages
Preparing site installation and test reports
Technical Skills and Background Experience Requirements:
Secret clearance required.
Excellent technical and communications skills to effectively interface with internal and external customers at all levels.
DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) Experience
System of Systems integration experience
Ability to work in a high visibility environment, focused on 24/7 mission availability, and quickly respond to customer direction/requests.
Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience, Five (5) or more years of technical training or equivalent, may be accepted in lieu of a degree
IP LAN/WAN Networking design.
Fiber Optic Backbone Experience
Hardware document control experience
Experience in cable plant design (Fiber Optic, Ethernet, RF, etc.)
Electrical engineering experience like power analysis, power and signal cabling, etc.
Experience with supporting Operations and Maintenance Flight requirements
Experience working in a mixed (Government and contractor) crew environment and adhere to a mission critical schedule. Experience with ITW/AA mission systems in CMAFB
Familiarity with military customs and courtesies
