We need someone who is either a chartered (or nearly chartered) engineer with a strong technical capability and a keen interest in how the energy sector needs to evolve in order to support a low carbon future. Our key focus is in the developing markets of energy estates, renewables, integrated power and LNG to power.

As well as taking on the challenge of designing the civil infrastructure for these projects, you will also be encouraged to develop a knowledge of emerging low carbon technologies within the energy sector and build strong and lasting relationships with our Clients through the work you undertake. To do this role successfully you will need to demonstrate:

  • the ability to problem-solve and develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of our clients;

  • excellent communication skills and the ability to listen and understand the needs of our clients;

  • technical expertise and the capability to devise practical and cost-effective designs; and

  • a good working knowledge of commercial design software and digital technologies;

The Role:

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be required to:

  • liaise with clients, manage project work on a day to day basis and ensure that the work is delivered within the agreed timescale and budgets;

  • have the ability to design reinforced concrete and structural steel elements using Euro-codes and be able to prepare and check calculations and oversee the production of design drawings;

  • understand how to go about the design of civil elements such as roads, drainage and general infrastructure associated with external works;

  • undertake site inspections, inspect works and respond to technical queries raised by the Site Team;

  • write reports including technical feasibility studies, building inspection reports and design reports; and

  • direct junior members of staff and mentor graduate engineers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ideally you will have a background in ‘heavy civils’ and the power sector and in particular renewable energy systems. The role is a technical role and you will be expected to demonstrate a high degree of technical competency in the design of civil and structural elements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BEng (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering

  • Chartered status or actively working towards chartership with either the Institution of Civil or Structural Engineers.
