AECOM’s Sustainable Infrastructure Group (SIG), is actively seeking a Sustainability Engineer, who can help achieve the growth plans for the team as a seller-doer.
The appropriate applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career as a resourceful civil engineer with a focus as a sustainability professional, as it applies to projects focused on SIG’s mission. The appropriate applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in assisting clients in the improved ability to use water in quantities and quality critically meeting the needs of humans and ecosystems to sustain life in the long-term.
Applicant should have a minimum of 10 years professional experience specifically working in a design capacity as a Civil Engineer and/or Project Engineer with sustainability focus in the following areas:
Hydrology & Hydraulic Analysis
Water Resources Planning
City Stormwater Master Planning
Stormwater Design & Engineering
Stormwater BMP, LID and GI Planning
Port & Coastal Engineering
Wetland Delineation & Planning
Municipal or Industrial Water/ Wastewater Treatment
Water Quality Control
Nature Based Design of Hydraulic Structures
Flood Control Design including Levees, Dams and Pump Lift Stations
Flood Inundation (Risk) Studies
Floodplain & Watershed Management
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Work directly with clients to determine needs and deliver solutions and lead teams in the preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations.
Ability to globally identify and build client relationships through localization.
Develop small to large planning and design projects from inception to completion.
Provide technical support to our team of highly skilled engineers in the West region, nationwide and abroad, while leading projects simultaneously and utilizing technical knowledge and expertise to develop the team’s overall capabilities.
Manage projects and clients in the sustainable planning, finance, design, engineering + build of water resources, water/wastewater technology and water quality control.
Supervise and support the work of others and mentor junior level engineering & design/drafting technical staff.
Excellent integrated water resources engineering, planning and environmental scientific knowledge and skills.
Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
Excellent technical writing skills.
Experience preparing, reviewing and approving water resources modelling, planning, finance, design and build documents, technical memos, project drawings, specifications, schedules and cost estimates.
Client relationship skills; including preparation and development of proposals and client management experience with a successful track record of delivering various water resources engineering projects to the expectations of the client.
Client relationships/experience with municipalities, water departments, water agencies, potential private sector clients and other stakeholders.
Meeting annual sales goals from a variety of clients.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in water resources, water/wastewater technology and water quality control; planning, finance, design, engineering and build for public and private clients
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering
Must have Project Management experience on sustainability focused water resources, water/wastewater, groundwater or stormwater projects of various sizes, obtained in at least more than three countries
