Job Summary

Aecom Burnaby is hiring an Intermediate Scheduler.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Knowledgeable of planning and scheduling concepts and principles including effects on financial performance.

  • Familiar with data sources and supports basic schedule development.

  • Supports analysis of schedule, identifies and investigates project schedule variances.

  • Collects and updates data and updates and produces scheduling reports.

  • Assists in the development and maintenance of WBS and support activities to implement applicable coding. Supports basic schedule development.

  • Supports gathering and assembling data for schedule updating.

  • Supports measurement of project schedule progress and gathers and assembles data for schedule and network updating.

  • Gathers data for schedule baseline development and maintenance.

  • Familiar with construction drawings, specifications and construction contracting methods.

  • Understands CPM scheduling concepts and principles and able to develop basic engineering, procurement and construction logic.

  • Understands concepts and principles of scope control and change management and earned value methodology.

  • Supports monthly report preparation.

  • May participate in planning and scheduling meetings to gain insight to planning and scheduling issues.

  • Exposure to basic scheduling and cost baseline fundamentals, concepts and principles.

  • Business Acumen

Works with company planning and scheduling systems and processes.

o Demonstrates proficiency in the use of company cornerstone planning and scheduling systems necessary to manage and control the project schedule.

o Demonstrates proficiency in Planning and Construction processes and workflow.

o Experienced in planning, scheduling, estimating, resources management, budgeting, forecasting.

o Development and implementation of Planning key performance indicators and assessment methodology

Technical Skills

o Able to use drawings and specifications in the establishment of project baseline data

o Assists in assembling data for trending and forecasting.

o Prepares analysis of progress trends and impact to project completion date.

o Has knowledge of earned value methodology.

o Collects and analyzes data on manpower and labor hours.

o Possesses the knowledge of scope control and change management.

o Ability to create baseline, critical path and updated progress schedules, what if scenarios, and simulation schedules.

o Understands concepts of WBS, OBS, RBS and enterprise scheduling

o Understands Advanced Work Packaging and Workface planning principles.

o Exposure to performance management and cost/schedule integration concepts and principles

o Supports the project reporting process as required.

o Gathers data for procedure development.

Minimum Requirements

o BA/BS + 4 YORE or AA/AS (US) + 6 YORE or Diploma/Certificate (Canada) + 6 YORE or HS/GED + 8 YORE

o Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, business or related field, or demonstrated equivalent and related experience.

o Experience with planning systems (Primavera P6, MS Project, Ecosys, MS Excel)

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills

o Ability to liaise at all levels with Client and team members.

o Competent computer skills, such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

o Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

o Entrants to this position should ideally have 8+ years of experience in engineering, procurement and construction projects or operating industrial facilities.

o Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset

o P. Eng is an asset

o CCP, EVP, PSP certification an asset
