Job Summary

The AECOM Program/Project Management (PPM) business line specializes in the management of design and construction of community infrastructure facilities for education, healthcare, national governments, sports and leisure, justice, cultural venues, and commercial needs. From concept through completion, we provide necessary technical and administrative services to help our clients meet their program objectives. Our professionals serve as an extension of our clients' staff, protecting their interests as our own, and often working within our clients' offices. As an industry leader in program and project management, we oversee activities ranging from planning, coordination, scheduling and cost control, to design, construction and commissioning.

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Program Manager based in Houston, San Antonio, Austin or Dallas, TX for Education programs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage and direct all aspects of complex programs and projects

  • Provide objective analysis and sound judgement

  • Evaluate and report project performance from inception to completion

  • Competencies include setup of work breakdown structure, establishing levels of control and detail, planning and scheduling, cost analysis and forecasting, progress measurement, earned value performance, risk analysis and change control

  • Responsible for managing, controlling, forecasting, and reporting cost and schedule performance for projects throughout the program

  • Capture to-date progress and expenditure data, analyze to-date performance data, forecast at-completion performance data (EAC costs, hours), analyze project risks (contingency management), manage change and incorporate scope variations into schedule and cost deliverables, and prepare associated reports

  • Manage a program to achieve specified objectives including the overall planning, coordination, and control of a project from inception to completion to produce a functionally and financially viable program that will be completed on time within authorized cost and to the required quality

  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management

  • Act as primary point of contact for client

  • Supervisory duties for managing onsite staff and resources

  • Hire, organize, and deploy staff and resources as required to support the program

  • Develop proposals and respond to opportunities for expanded services

  • Manage program related procurement, contracts, and amendments

  • Develop, facilitate, and conduct program presentations for various audiences

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, architecture, or construction management discipline

  • Eight (8) years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CMAR procurement, contract management and project execution

  • Knowledge in LEED and CHPS

  • Highly motivated and takes initiative

  • Experience with K-12 and College/University construction programs

  • Experience with Design-Build considered a plus

  • CCM, PMP, PE and/or AIA registration/certification considered a plus

  • Progressive experience in construction design and development, including (3) years as Program Manager in direct management of project managers, project delivery, project controls, and reporting for programs in excess of $350M

  • Possess highly developed interpersonal, analytical, and communication (strong written and verbal) skills, and experience in communicating and coordinating with Oversight Committee’s and Boards

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage in a diverse and dynamic environment with short-notice tasking under high pressure situations

  • Mobility to relocate for long term assignments in different geographical locations considered a plus
