Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Architectural Design Intern to be based in Kansas City, MO. This position is expected to begin in the end of March 2020.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out tasks

  • Performs entry level work.

  • Follows instructions to accomplish task assigned by senior staff

  • Meets required schedules while producing quality work

Minimum Requirements


  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or other related field required from an NAAB accredited program.

  • Experience with knowledge of Autodesk CAD, BIM-Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Sketchup, Lumion, V-Ray and Rhino 3D.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products.

  • Entry-level proficiency in the use of computers for making architectural drawings, calculations and 3-D visual simulations.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Interest in sports and assembly related projects is a plus but not a requirement

  • Basic understanding of architectural principles and theory associated with project design and construction document production.

  • Basic knowledge of standard construction techniques and principles.

  • Working knowledge of design production techniques including 3D computer modeling, graphic design, word processing and effective communication skills.

  • Ability to work efficiency and be flexible to change.

  • Be self-manage and work as needed independently.

  • Some level of basic free hand sketching ability for presentations

  • Excellent oral / written communication skills.

  • A high level of organizational skills with a detail-oriented focus and a strong work ethic.
