Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Subcontracts Manager to work at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station in San Clemente, CA.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Mentoring procurement staff

  • Interacting with engineering and quality to meet company objectives. Able to estimate costs and lead times for development projects with accuracy. Capable of providing guidance on appropriate use of materials/processes.

  • Evaluate bids, select and recommend suppliers and negotiate price, delivery, quality, service and terms and conditions

  • Read/understand Purchase Orders and Terms and Conditions

  • Read/understand published pricing indices and learning curves

  • Manage supplier performance and follow up on all awards until completion of orders

  • Negotiate and settle with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, returns of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes

  • Conduct supplier visits and rate them as to production capability, performance and delivery.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills with suppliers and customers (internal and external)

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with Suppliers/Customers/Auditors

  • Effectively manage financial data

  • Responsible to play a Sr Management lead role with the centralized subcontracts group in the areas of subcontract and contract development, execution, people leadership and ensure adherence to processes.

  • Provides expert knowledge within contract law, and lead the development and execution of contracts for Energy Services.

  • Manages a large procurement department's processes and reviews for compliance with applicable procedures.

  • Supervises and directs procurement staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS plus 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including a minimum of 2 years of leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong negotiation skills, interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

  • Previous experience in a contracts/subcontracts role within the nuclear power industry.

  • Advanced degree.

Additional Information:

  • Relocation and per diem support are not available for this position.
