Job Summary

The Buildings and Places Division of AECOM is actively seeking an energetic, self-motivated, highly collaborative Interior Designer to join its Los Angeles Interiors Workplace Practice.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Candidates should display outstanding design and graphic skills. Candidates should also display strong communication, planning and collaboration skills and be comfortable working both independently and in a team environment on a variety of projects and tasks.

  • Lead project teams for new work and participate with project teams on the planning, design, and execution of new and existing projects

  • Work with senior designers, technical coordinators, discipline leaders and project managers to develop creative solutions to a myriad of challenging project types

  • Implementation of the design and production of all phases of an Interiors project including programming, test fits, space plans, design development, construction documents, construction administration, furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) packages and Color Presentation Board documentation

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited Architecture or Interior Design program

  • 6+ years of experience

  • NCIDQ or AIA

  • Candidates should be proficient in a wide variety of production and visualization software including but not limited to: AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-Up, VRay or other visualization software, Adobe Suite, InDesign and Microsoft Office products

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9+ years of experience

  • LEED BD+C or ID+C Preferred

  • Candidates should possess strong technical skills and demonstrate experience in all phases of Interior Architecture and Interior Design project delivery

  • Must have strong communication, planning and collaboration skills, and be comfortable working both independently, in a team environment, and as a team leader on a variety of projects and tasks

  • The candidate must be prepared to develop technical solutions to a wide range of challenging problems possess a diverse knowledge of architectural principles and practices, use advanced techniques, and be responsible for finished plans, interior architecture detailing, specifications, systems and material selections and approvals

  • Project management and client management Business development experience for proposal and fee development

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is preferred.
