SAIC is in need of an F/A-18 or F-35 tactical aircraft (TACAIR) employment subject matter expert to provide advanced, high-level pre-deployment training in TACAIR employment to Carrier Strike Groups, Expeditionary Strike Groups, Amphibious Ready Groups/Marine Expeditionary Units and other military forces. This position is for someone who is passionate about training and ensuring our Naval Forces are fully trained and ready for deployment.
Place of performance is San Diego, CA, with occasional travel to Fleet Concentration Areas. Work is in support of war games and integrated fleet training
The TACAIR SME will:
Develop advanced war game scenarios to support training to warfare commanders and staffs in TACAIR employment, to include aircraft carrier operations, land and maritime strike warfare, air defense, component-level integration, and other TACAIR missions and factors
Facilitate war game execution and accomplishment of training objectives by managing strike warfare scenario aspects, role-playing TACAIR elements as required, and/or working with the training audience to manage the scenario
Be prepared to facilitate TACAIR planning seminars and instruction
Liaise with Navy and Joint centers of excellence, and provide SME support to program in latest USN doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures for TACAIR employment
20 years demonstrated expertise in planning, implementation and execution of naval strike warfare tactics, direction and employment of units, and coordination requirements between TACAIR components, warfare commanders, subordinate units, and higher headquarters.
Minimum experience is post-department tour on fleet, carrier strike, expeditionary strike group, or equivalent staff/positional experience
Thorough knowledge of F/A-18 and/or F-35 capabilities and limitations
Experience translating training objectives into a comprehensive war game exercise
Examples of the type of experience required are Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor or Marine Weapons and Tactics Instructor from F/A-18 or F-35 community
Experience with Fleet Synthetic Training or other distributed training
Experience with Live-Virtual-Constructive training initiatives
