Title:

Lead Process Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Lead process safety engineering and design, Fire water system design and safety studies
  • Prepare Design Safety Philosophy, HSE Plan and Specifications for fire protection systems (active & passive), data sheet for firefighting systems
  • Prepare Fire Water system Piping and Instrumentation diagrams
  • Participate in Process Hazard reviews and analysis including HAZOP/HAZID/SIL studies and carry out Actions close-out
  • Review Third Party Studies including FERA, Dispersion analysis, EERA, ESSA, Dropped objects study, QRA studies. etc.
  • Carry out independent design of Active and Passive Fire Protection systems and prepare Hazardous/ H2S Area Classification documentation, Safety & Fire Fighting layouts and other Safety drawings
  • Provide health & environmental inputs (inputs include health risk assessments such as chemical exposure, noise & lighting, ergonomics / Human factors engineering), environmental impact assessments, etc) for projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Has 20-40 years of experience
  • Has good experience on Offshore Oil & Gas projects and Onshore (Refineries, LNG facilities, Storage terminal etc)
  • Has worked on Concept studies, FEED and detailed design projects having led Process Safety teams on Hydrocarbon projects
  • Familiar with plot plan reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL classification/verification and other safety reviews (e.g.SIMOPS, ALARP) is preferred
  • Possess good working knowledge in PIPENET Vision, Flaresim and other consequence modelling software such as DNV PHAST etc.
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards, software and tools
