Job Summary

? AECOM is looking for a seasoned Environmental Technician in our Chicago, IL office. Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

  • Performs a variety of tasks in support of project staff.

  • May gather and maintain specified records of scientific data for supervisor, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites.

  • Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.

  • Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories under supervision.

  • Stormwater Treatment OM: Frequency: Weekly Task: Perform routine OM and record system operation readings for two stormwater systems and one GAC-micron filter treatment system.

  • Troubleshoot the malfunctioning equipment if needed.

  • NPDES Sampling Frequency: MonthlyTask: Set up autosamplers and collect monthly stormwater samples.

  • MGP groundwater treatment system OM Frequency: Monthly Task: Perform routine OM and record system operation readings for a groundwater treatment system. Collect monthly system operation and effluent samples. Troubleshoot the malfunctioning equipment if needed.

  • Septic System OM Frequency: Monthly Task: Perform routine OM on a septic system and troubleshoot the malfunctioning equipment if needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school + 2 years of related experience or AA/AS

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school + 4 years of related experience
