Title:

Principal Piping Designer

Responsibilities

  • Perform plot plan / layout studies for offshore platform / FPSO and build the PDMS model
  • Perform / review routing studies for offshore platform / FPSO process and utility piping systems and build the PDMS model
  • Plan the pipe support frame arrangements and build the same in MDS application of PDMS
  • Liaise closely with the pipe stress team to acquire inputs for finalising the pipe routing and pipe support locations and types
  • Coordinate with other discipline design teams to achieve optimal use of the 3D modelling space, and minimise last minute changes to the design
  • Review Vendor drawing for the static Equipment / Rotating Equipment / Packages and ensure all the Nozzle orientations, Vessel cleats and Support requirements are in line with Design Requirements
  • Perform and check the Model for Clashes on regular basis and collaborate with other disciplines for effective cleaning of the 3D Model to make Information technology clash free on regular basis
  • Familiar with Off-shore facilities – Platforms and FPSO layout design, Material handling, Piping/Pipe support design, safety requirements, Conduct 3D Model Reviews as per the Project requirements

Requirements

  • Diploma or ITE Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, with exposure to piping layout design
  • Minimum of 15-25 years of relevant experience
  • Able to perform equipment and piping layout design for Offshore platform / FPSO Project, using the PDMS/MDS suite of applications
  • Shall possess piping design experience as applicable to offshore platform / FPSO projects
  • Must be able to work independently, guide a team of Designers and under tight schedule requirements
  • Shall be able to interact with a team of Piping Designers and Stress Engineers
