Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Project Manager for our team currently managing a municipal capital improvement currently in Garland, TX. Project assignments may include a variety of parks/rec (trail, playground, sports field) improvements and/or civil engineering (paving, utility) projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of projects

  • Manages one or more moderately complex projects

  • Regularly develops and evaluates project plans

  • Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed project plans, drawings and specifications

  • Budgets and schedules management for individual projects and a portfolio of projects

  • Provides leadership, direction and technical guidance on projects

  • Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects

  • Coordinates with authorities and utility providers as needed to deliver projects as scheduled

  • Collaboration with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists

  • Work closely with the Client’s staff

  • Manages internal and external stakeholders

  • Schedule and coordinate the design, procurement, and construction process so that projects meet Client expectations

  • Assists in the procurement process

  • Reviews and approves vendor invoices

  • Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget

  • Preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and work timetables

  • Interpretation and explanation of contracts and technical information to other professionals

  • Coordination of design submittals, construction submittals, RFIs, and other formal communication

  • Coordination of FF&E delivery and occupant relocation

  • Travels to sites and meetings within the area

  • Reporting work progress and budget matters to clients

  • Provides weekly updates on project performance, budget, schedule, 2-week look ahead, etc

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Demonstrated equivalency: AA/AS (US) + 2 years of relevant experience or Diploma/Certificate (Canada) + 2 years of relevant experience or HS/GED + 4 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Parks and recreation design and construction, and/or related experience

  • Construction field experience

  • Have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Working knowledge of Project Management Information Systems
